Deverakonda, Rashmika hit back at trolls over talk show comments
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna faced backlash after revealing on *Koffee With Karan* that Rashmika asked him to marry her daily for a year before he agreed. Both posted firm responses defending their bond and shutting down online trolls.

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna issued separate public statements addressing social media backlash following their joint appearance on a television talk show.
The controversy erupted after an episode of Koffee With Karan aired, in which the couple—who married in February in Udaipur—recounted details of their courtship. During the show, Mr. Deverakonda recounted how Ms. Rashmika had asked him multiple times over a year to consider marriage before he agreed.
The remarks sparked intense discussion online, with several social media users criticising Mr. Deverakonda for his comments and accusing him of exhibiting a "red flag" dynamic in their relationship.
Responding to the online criticism in a statement posted on social media, Ms. Rashmika clarified that the decision-making process was a mutual one. "The conversation was about him wanting both of us to take the time and space to understand each other," she said, adding that her partner had stood by her through difficult times.
Shortly after, Mr. Deverakonda posted a photograph with Ms. Rashmika, reiterating that they were happily married and rejecting the online commentary surrounding their personal lives.
The actors, who previously starred together in Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019), were recently seen on screen together in the Telugu film Ranabaali.
