Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy led a three-kilometre padayatra in Sircilla, the political stronghold of BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao, on Tuesday. Accompanied by party leaders and weavers, the Chief Minister marched to a public meeting venue while paying floral tributes at the Ambedkar crossroads.

Targeting the BRS leadership, Mr. Reddy accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family of amassing wealth worth Rs 1 lakh crore while ignoring weaver suicides and Gulf migration in Sircilla. He alleged that the Kaleshwaram project and Manair sand mining became tools for massive corruption involving relatives of the former Chief Minister.

Mr. Reddy stated that the Congress government spent Rs 1,731 crore on Sircilla district in two and a half years, compared to Rs 2,234 crore during ten years of BRS rule. He urged voters to support a Padmashali candidate for the legislative council and demanded that the Congress flag-bearer in Sircilla be inducted into the cabinet.

During the visit, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for multiple development works, including a Rs 200 crore Young India Integrated School, Rs 99 crore for Vemulawada temple expansion, and various administrative and school buildings.
