Tragedy in Hyderabad: 26-year-old AP native dies after RTC bus hits Rapido bike
A 26-year-old woman from West Godavari, AP, died on the spot after an RTC bus hit her bike taxi near Ameerpet, Hyderabad, while she was on her way to repair her phone. The Panjagutta police have registered a case and arrested the bus driver, Shaik Anwar.
HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic road accident near Ameerpet on Saturday after the two-wheeler she was riding on was hit by a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus.
The victim, identified as V Hemadurga, hailed from Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. She was residing in a private hostel in Hyderabad and working at an automobile dealership in Banjara Hills.
According to the Panjagutta police, Hemadurga had taken permission from her workplace on Saturday to get her mobile phone repaired. She booked a Rapido bike taxi to travel to Ameerpet. The accident occurred near the rear gate of the Big Bazaar complex in Srinagar Colony, Ameerpet, when a passing RTC bus collided with the bike taxi.
Hemadurga sustained severe injuries in the crash and died on the spot.
Following the incident, the Panjagutta police registered a case and took the bus driver, identified as Shaik Anwar, into custody. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is currently underway.
