Prakash Raj accuses BJP of dictating voter list deletions
The actor demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the voter revision process.

Actor Prakash Raj has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of sending lists from its office to decide which voters are retained in the electoral rolls. Speaking at the Hyderabad Press Club, he criticized the Election Commission of India and the union government over voter list verification.
The actor targeted the Special Summary Revision, or SIR, alleging it forces citizens to prove they are alive. He claimed that around 13 crore voters across India have been disqualified due to recent election commission decisions, which he called incorrect.
Prakash Raj demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He also called for a Supreme Court inquiry into the commission's decisions since 2023, and demanded cases be filed against Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah.
He alleged that the main agenda of these deletions is to target the votes of the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, and Muslims. He questioned why Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan, alongside the BJP, are supporting the election commission's actions.
