Anantapur district education authorities have introduced a digital tracking app to monitor class 10 public examinations preparation in government schools. The move follows poor performance last academic year when the district recorded only seventy percent passes, placing it at the bottom statewide. Officials previously implemented special programs without success due to lax supervision by some teachers, headmasters, and Mandal Educational Officers.
Under the current "Mission March" initiative, 17,685 students across 355 high schools in the district are slated to receive special evening training from 4 pm to 5 pm daily, followed by slip tests. However, field inspections revealed poor implementation, prompting state education commissioners to express dissatisfaction and forcing local officials to tighten oversight.
The new mobile application requires teachers to upload daily photographs of training sessions, revision classes, and tests using geotagging. The software rejects old images and operates only between 4:30 pm and 6 pm, accepting solely live photos taken inside school premises during that window.
District Educational Officer Ayub Hussain stated that the app is a state-first initiative aimed at achieving at least ninety-five percent pass rates this academic year, warning of strict action against negligent staff.
