The Telangana government has issued orders reorganising the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, rationalising boundaries across 76 police stations and divisions to align with the civic body's expansion. The government order, issued by Principal Secretary (Home) Shikha Goel, aims to improve emergency response times and streamline law and order administration across the capital.

Under the restructuring, the Badangpet police station has been abolished, while the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station and division have been renamed Shamshabad. Chikkadpally division has been rechristened Kachiguda division, and Santosh Nagar division has been renamed Chatrinaka.

Several territorial transfers have been implemented across commissionerates. Areas previously under Narsingi in Cyberabad, including Hydershakote, Gandamguda, and Bairagiguda, have been shifted to Rajendranagar. The entire Osmania University campus now falls under the OU police station, while parts of Market police station have been reassigned to Mahankali and the Malkajgiri commissionerate.

The reshuffle also remaps women police stations and zonal cyber cells across six zones: Jubilee Hills, Secunderabad, Khairatabad, Charminar, Golconda, and Rajendranagar. Issued under Section 7 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Hyderabad City Police Act, the revised notifications will be published in the state gazette.
