ACB nabs Intermediate Education officer in Sangareddy for accepting ₹20,000 bribe
The Regional Inspection Officer had allegedly demanded ₹50,000 from a junior college management for a favourable inspection report.

SANGAREDDY: In a carefully laid trap, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested R Govindaram, the Regional Inspection Officer of Intermediate Education in Sangareddy, on Wednesday for accepting a bribe of ₹20,000.
According to ACB sources, Govindaram had recently conducted an inspection at a private junior college in the district. Following the inspection, he allegedly demanded ₹50,000 from the college management in exchange for submitting a positive report.
The management had already paid him ₹30,000 as the first instalment. When the officer insisted on clearing the remaining ₹20,000, the college approached the ACB with a complaint.
A team led by Medak DSP Sudharshan Reddy laid a trap at Govindaram's office in Sangareddy and caught him red-handed while accepting the money from the college management on Wednesday afternoon.
The officer is expected to be produced before a court later today. Investigations are currently underway.
