Allu Arjun fans’ association conducts HPV awareness drives across eight states
AAFA conducted 820 HPV awareness programmes across eight states, reaching nearly 3 lakh girls and young women as part of the ‘Swasth Nari, Viksit Bharat’ initiative.
The Allu Arjun Fans Association (AAFA) has conducted awareness programmes on HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention across eight states as part of the Centre’s ‘Swasth Nari, Viksit Bharat’ initiative.
According to the association, it supported and organised 820 awareness events in schools and communities across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The programmes collectively reached around three lakh girls and young women, it said.
The awareness drives focused on the importance of HPV vaccination and early prevention of cervical cancer, with programmes conducted directly in schools and local communities.
The initiative brought together Allu Arjun fans from across the country, with the association saying that its members participated in the campaign as part of their social responsibility efforts.
Cervical cancer is one of the leading cancers affecting women in India, and HPV vaccination is an important preventive measure against infections caused by high-risk types of the human papillomavirus.
